Did you know...Though popular in this country in only the past few decades, sprouts have actually been around for thousands of years. Mung beans have been used in Chinese foods for years, though usually in cooked dishes.

 

We take pride in the fact that our methods measure up against all current FDA guidelines for food safety .  

As a company dedicated to producing the healthiest and therefore the safest possible sprouts in our area we are committed to applying and adhering to the highest possible food safety protocols. We are a certified member of the International Sprout Growers Association and one of 14 growers in the Brassica Sprout Group approved to produce broccoli sprouts. This requires us to undergo regular and rigorous third-party inspections to ensure that safe sanitation practices are followed. We have recently received a "Superior" rating from the AIB and are inspected regularly by both the New York State Department of Agriculture and Markets as well as the FDA. We have been trained in Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) for food handlers and have implemented Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP) standards

All Springwater Sprouts have been grown with seeds, which have been selected for sprouting purposes only from a select group of suppliers. They are then sanitized in a calcium hypochloriate solution as approved and recommended by the United Sates Environmental Protection Agency and the FDA on November 30, 1998, and are constantly scrutinized for quality. Accordingly all sprouts produced are subject to the hold and release guidelines set forth by the FDA. Samples of affluent water are screened by a certified outside laboratory for the presence of E.Coli 0157 and Salmonella. Absolutely no sprouts are shipped until negative results are obtained.
